Nearly a year after launching one of our most impactful product releases, we’ve made meaningful enhancements driven by your feedback. Our goal with introducing Event Cancellation Insurance was twofold: first, to help organizers avoid financial losses from refunds; and second, to offer attendees protection against unexpected, unavoidable situations - a true win-win for everyone involved. As always, thank you for sharing with us. It’s clear: your voice helps shape what we do.Here’s what’s new:

• Event organizers can now see who purchased Vertical Insure event cancellation insurance on the attendee's registration. 
• Attendee's can now see if they have purchased Vertical Insure event cancellation insurance from their attendee dashboard. 
• Attendees can now purchase event cancellation insurance when registering someone else or when registering and paying with credits. 
• Attendees can choose to purchase event cancellation insurance when editing their registration and haven't previously purchased a policy. 

Overall benefits of Vertical Insure to your organization:

• Event Cancellation Insurance allows you to keep often non-refundable registration fees in place while giving participants peace of mind. It protects your revenue and encourages future registrations by providing a safety net for attendees. 
• Offering Registration Cancellation Insurance reduces refund requests by 46%, easing admin workload and allowing your team to focus on delivering a great experience for drivers and riders.

Organizer FAQ's:

• As the organizer, what do I need to do when an attendee cancels but has signed up for Event Cancellation Insurance?
  Absolutely nothing. After purchasing coverage, registrants will receive a confirmation email from Vertical Insure, which includes detailed instructions on how to file a claim and answers to common questions. If they need further assistance, they can easily reach out to support@verticalinsure.com, where their support team is ready to help with any concerns.
• Where can I see if the attendee has purchased the insurance so I don’t accidentally refund them?

Fee Pass-through allows you the choice to transfer payment processing fees* to your attendee. This functionality has been asked for by many organizers over the years, and we're happy to make it available to those who wish to utilize it. *Fee Pass-Through does not include additional American Express fees*

What does this look like from your attendees’ perspective? To ensure a smooth and user-friendly experience for your customers, we’ve clearly outlined the fees for each payment method during checkout. This empowers attendees to choose the most cost-effective option while providing complete transparency on upfront costs. The Fee Pass-Through feature applies to events charged at registration, waitlisted, or deferred. If a registration is modified, the processing fee will be recalculated based on the current rates.

Example of your attendees' Fee Pass-through Experience 

Fee Pass-Through's default is "off", meaning nothing changes unless your organization decides it would like to pass through payment processing fees to attendees. An admin from your organization must enable this feature if desired, and it will only apply to registrations that occur after the feature is enabled. 

To turn on and begin using Fee Pass-through, and admin must contact our Support Team at support@motorsportreg.com, and we will get your account set up.

The addition of Fee Pass-Through paves the way for upcoming enhancements to our platform.

The MSR team has been making enhancements across the platform as we start to spool up for the 2024 season. Below are a few recent updates around SpeedWaiver, Search and RaceHero. Be sure to keep an eye on the bell icon in the upper righthand corner in MSR in the coming months with more enhancements on the way! 

We are excited to announce the release of one of our most requested features: Saved Views. This feature is available today on the People, Attendees, and Entries list screens.

One of the most requested reporting features that we have received is the ability to view a report that effectively and seamlessly pulls data across multiple events. Being able to do this will allow you to analyze how certain events performed financially compared to others, see participation across events, and track other organizational metrics for future decision making. Now available for Premium customers on the Reports page within MSR are four new cross-event reports! 

Since our last product blog post at the end of June, the Product and Engineering team here at MotorsportReg has been at work trying to remove friction on both the attendee and organizer side of MSR. Below are some highlights of what the team has been working on for the past few months.
