Each host organization that uses MotorsportReg.com for event registrations, online payments, and management, relies on certain information to be maintained and updated by the attendee. This information is used in the organizer's event reports, and more importantly, can mean the difference between a pleasant registration experience, or one marred by error messages or denied payments.

There are events… and there are EVENTS.

One such EVENT is the 2013 PCA Escape to LA gathering being held this October. Not just any social gathering, this event plays like many national car club conventions. Four days of socializing and sight seeing among some of Southern California’s most scenic attractions. Hosted jointly by PCA Grand Prix and San Gabriel Valley regions, they expect between 400 and 600 people in attendance.

An event that size takes lots of effort, commitment, and organization. So to that end it was our pleasure to showcase some of our favorite features built in to MotorsportReg.com and assist in setting up the event registration.

When an attendee registers for an event through MotorsportReg.com, their default event status is set to ‘New.’ This shows up on your attendee list in the form of a yellow square with a white star inside. This tells you: “Hey… I’m new here!”

Attendee: Hi, my name is Jim Wilk…
Registration volunteer: Wilkerson, James … you’re registered for two days of HPDE as well as time trials for Saturday only right?
Attendee: Um, well… yeah, that’s me!
Registration volunteer: Great, glad you made it here safely! I see that you’re all paid up, just sign the waiver and you’re good to go to head on over to tech.
Attendee: That’s it? But I just got here! I was expecting a small social while everyone waited in line to get checked in. Now I can relax a bit… you guys are the BEST!
